Houston Astros Renamed Houston Castros by Ownership

Owner of the Houston Astros, Jim Crane, announced Thursday that the Houston team is being renamed “Houston Castros”. The new team branding will honor the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro. Crane told The Miami Bulletin, “Castro was a great man and deserves this recognition. Our fans are pleased with the rebranding and we look forward to it being in effect by the 2023 season.”

Crane told journalists that the new team mascot will be a refugee with a raft, “The refugee mascot embodies our team because just like Castro, our team tortures the opponent.”
